A Place for Seniors

Southminster-Steinhauer is a place where seniors can find friendship on life’s journey.  Respected for their wisdom and sought out for their gifts of long-experience, the church seeks to provide occasions for fellowship and opportunity for meaningful volunteerism for the elders among us.  Activities, support and learning groups, opportunities for compassionate multi-generational interaction are all a part of what is important to our seniors.

A social (and sociable) group of seniors gather for lunch on the third Sunday of each month following the morning gathering and the Silvertones, a choir for Seniors, practices every other Sunday.  They give to the community by singing at facilities and homes where their gift of music is eagerly appreciated.   Although not restricted to seniors, a monthly afternoon of fun and games provides a place of community and friendship.

This and other regularly scheduled activities, as well as a men’s and women’s group are places where our seniors gather to enrich their lives.
