Youth

The group meets on the second and fourth Fridays of every month.   New members are always welcome!  Some exiting events are being planned for these evenings of fun with the youth!!  Youth rock!!

Cookie Decoration and Luminary Production

Come decorate some cookies in preparation for the Cookie Walk (Cookie Walk is Saturday, December 3.  We will also be creating luminaries to illuminate the walkway for this winter's evening events.

Malice in the Palace

Join us on Saturday to help serve a dinner as the Youth Choir presents "Malice in the Palace", a dramatic presentation of Esther and Mordecai.  A meal is being prepared by a professional chef.  Sunday, there will be a second presentation accompanied by High Tea, also served by the Youth.  Youth will help by being beverage servers, table servers or help with food prep.

The Inviting Circle

This is a Youth and Young Adult - lead service hosted by Grace United (6215 104 Ave).  A carpool will leave the church at 6:15.  Please bring a Food Back Donation.

Movie Night

Meet at Cinema City 12 to enjoy a movie.  It will be followed by a discussion group at Tim Hortons in South Edmonton Common.

Advent Festival

Gather with the congregation to launch Advent.  Youth helpers needed. This is also the deadline to deliver Teen Stockings for the Inner City Ministry.

Christmas Eve

There are two services this evening.  Youth will help set up the luminaries and pass out the candles used in the service.

Tuxis Parliament

Tuxis is a model Parliament for youth aged 15-20. Some of the advantages of attending are: friends, fellowship, faith, music, dancing, debate, dressing-up-and-looking-fancy, physical activity, intelligent conversation, unintelligent conversation, social awareness, and fun. This event is held at the Legislature in Edmonton.  A lead up event is held in Sylvan Lake, November 18-20.  This event costs $250, which includes food, accommodation and transportation (some aid may be available). 

Boyle Street

If you are interested in serving a meal at Boyle Street Church(9515 104 Ave), please respond immediately, only room for the first eight people.

"Making first impressions: In 90 seconds or less!"

Join us for a fun evening learning how to make a great first impression and gain confidence.  Some of the topics covered will include body language, colours, shapes, handshakes, and conversation starters.

Valentine Cookie Decoration

Bring some joy to the seniors at Wedman House.  We will help the seniors decorate Valentine cookies.

FaithLift

Deliver a meal to a group of United Church students on the UofA Campus and join in on a discussion following the meal.  This group meets in SUB 011.

Wake-a-thon

Join us for our wake-a-thon.  The wake-a-thon will be from 10am on Saturday, March 15 until 10 am on Sunday March 16.  The youth will join the men's Fellowship Group to cook and serve breakfast on Sunday morning.  Youth will participate in the Easter Vigil and Sunrise service.

Habitat for Humanity

Prepare and serve a meal for the pre-fab builders at Habitat for Humanity. This group helps under privileged Edmonton families build their own homes.  Meet at the Church then travel to the work site.(8210 Yellowhead Trail) 

 

Please remember that some events may be of short notice, so plan to keep a few dates free on your calendar.  Participate and enjoy!

Our youth group would appreciate any bottles you would like to donate for this ongoing fundraiser.  Please bring any bottles to our regular Sunday service on Communion Sundays. One of our youth will be more than happy to take these off your hands!!  Just look for them at the top of the stairs to the basement.  Thank you for any bottles you can donate!!
